Trying to be kawaii and hold Puccho packets like I’m giving peace signs, that typical Asian picture pose.

Today was supposed to be a cocoon day, but Nila’s dad and his girlfriend payed us a surprise visit and took us out to eat, which was nice. We went to Yo! Sushi, because we always end up going there. Nila also gained a straw hat from the visit. And I gained some Puccho, my favourite Japanese sweets. :D
At Yo! Sushi I ate a crab onigiri katsu that tasted a little… fishy (excuse the pun). It actually smelled of ammonia. Shann (my friend/housemate who works there) later told me the crab was actually off… If I get diarrhea someone is going to die.
Another from Howard.
Arthur: losing at Fifa and failing at relationships. Help him out by giving his design website some clicks. Go on, open the package…

Arthur recently broke up with his girlfriend, so when I visited him in Bristol he wanted to watch (500) Days of summer as he hadn’t in a while (and I’ve always maintained that it’s a good post break-up film). Anyway, he fell asleep half way through and I snapped his shot of him sleeping. He fell asleep the last time we watched this film together, and I kept giving him wedgies as it stopped him snoring for a bit. I didn’t have the heart to do it this time, he’s going through a tough time…
[Arthur isn’t actually that distraught about breaking up with his girlfriend, it’s just an in-joke between us that he ‘needs help to get out of a dark place’] :D
Re-posting this picture to commemorate my great-grandma who sadly passed away today. She was 96. I’m glad I got to see her when I was in the Philippines in August, even if she didn’t speak English, and I didn’t speak Tagalog.
Travelogue. Epilogue Post #28.
An unintentionally over-exposed group portrait of my mother, sister, granny, great-granny (who was 96) and other relatives in a village called San Pedro. I love that I took so many photos whilst in the Philippines. Photos that I forget about and stumble across whilst perusing my photos, hence the recurrence of the ‘travelogue’ months after my actual trip. As I said before, nostalgia…
Travelogue. Day 14 18/8/11.
On the 18th we left Legazpi in the early morning and sat through another long coach ride into the countryside to stay at my granny’s house in a village called San Pedro for a couple of days. This journey was a little more tolerable than the last as it was only about five hours and I got to glimpse at more of the Philippines countryside, much of which was lovely. It looked a lot like the Devon countryside… Except for there were more palm trees… Actually, it didn’t resemble Devon in the slightest. I took a few photos through the window of the coach, but I’ll have to wait until the roll of film in my OM40 is developed to see if they were any good.
After the long journey we met more relatives and then wandered down to see my great grandmother, who is still going strong at 96 years old (she is the one in the front, centre of the photo, just in case that wasn’t obvious). She didn’t speak any English and I kinda’ wished I knew Tagalog so I could talk to here, ‘cause at 96 you know she’s seen a lot in life.
[I seem to have so many relatives on the Filipino side of the family I feel I should try and draw out a family tree to try and make sense of it all. I even have aunt‘s who are younger than me due to my mother‘s uncle having kids late on.]
