“Once more into the fray.
Into the last good fight I’ll ever know.
Live and die on this day.
Live and die on this day.”

William. Blending in with the swans.
This is a photographed negative since the print was cut badly. I’d have liked to use RAW rather than JPEG, but I’m without Photoshop.

Spent the day in Exeter with Chloe, a friend I hadn’t seen for nearly three years. We went to the museum (here’s Chloe wearing a Roman helmet) and the cinema to watch Brave, which was good, but considering it was a Pixar film, I was a little underwhelmed.
“Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine?”
“D’ja ever clap when a waitress falls and drops a tray of glasses? And ain’t it fun to watch figure skaters falling on their asses? And don’tcha feel all warm and cosy, watching people out in the rain? That’s Shadenfreude! People taking pleasure in your pain.”
”Vision? What do you know about my vision? My vision would turn your world upside down, tear asunder your illusions, and send the sanctuary of your own ignorance crashing down around you. Now ask yourself, Are you ready to see that vision?”
“What do you do when you can’t do nothing, but there’s nothing you can do?”
“You do what you can.”
The weather yesterday was typical of a British summer. Sunny at one point and then it turns on you…

I spent the 200th day of the year in Exeter with Nicki, one of a few friends I have that is also half-Filipino. She was also one of a few people last year that decided to ditch me as a friend, something she later felt bad for and apologised for, as a few others had done. I’ll admit, despite this, I still felt a little bitter. People had apologised for doing this to me before but they’re apologies added up to shit. But I give her credit for trying again and she was a good friend to begin with. I pretty much hate the others. Their apologies were probably just to clear their conscious having no ambition to be my friend any more. Ahh well.
